Željko Ćorić, 61, unexpectedly passed away on September 20th 2023 in Georgetown ON.


Željko was born on July 25th 1962 to Mate and Šima Ćorić, in Mostarska Vrata, Ljubuški, Hercegovina. After he graduated from high school he went into the trade of Tool & Die, which he continued to work the past 34 years.


In 1989 he made the decision to move to Toronto, Canada, where he met the love of his life, Zvonka. Their love didn't need much time to bloom and they married June 23rd, 1990. Soon afterwards he was blessed with 3 daughters: Šima, born 1992, Silvana, born 1997, and Marina, born 2001.


Željko was a family man who always put the needs of his girls before his own. He was a patient man, which is much needed when raising 3 daughters. Željko always turned to his Catholic faith when he needed support, and made sure this was a life lesson he instilled in his children. There wasn't a single time that he missed Sunday Mass on purpose. God was the center of his life, and he always tried to live a life according His teachings.


He spent his free time working on any project he that could find in his garage, as well as hunting with his brother Jozo and nephew Matthew. If he couldn't be out in the forest he could also be found on his phone, listening to duck calls.


Željko leaves behing his wife Zvonka (nee Planinić), daughters Šima, Silvana, and Marina. Sister Ana (Berislav) and Brothers Marko (Dragica), Frano, Jozo (Mary), Drago (Marijana), and Branimir (Anica). His nieces and nephews Antonia, Mate, Ivan, Lucija, Christina, Matthew, Zdravko, Mate, Andrija, Antonija, and Marijan. Mother-in-law Stojka (nee Šimić), Sister-in-laws Katica (Miroslav) and Silvana (Radoslav). Cousin Luka (Štefica).


He was preceded in death by his parents Mate and Šima (nee Dugandžić). His father-in-law Veselko. His niece Kristina.


Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown, on Sunday, October 1, 2023 between 4:00 - 9:00 p.m. Prayers will begin at 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 2, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the Queen of Peace Croatian Franciscan Centre, 9118 Winston Churchill Blvd, Norval. Interment Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Georgetown.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Queen of Peace Croatian Franciscan Centre, Norval ON, in which he was a parishioner of since he settled in Canada.
