It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of William “Bill” Turner on February 24, 2026, with family by his side at Ian Anderson House in Oakville, Ontario. Bill was 91 years old and the beloved husband for 51 wonderful years to Madge May Turner, before she passed away in 2015. He was a devoted and loving stepfather to Jane (Byron), Hilary (Les) and Rita (Keith). He was also a loving grandfather to 6 grandchildren and 9 beautiful great-grandchildren.
He found joy in supporting, loving and being with family, raising cats, dogs and farming with friends and family.Bill was born in Ebbw Vale, Wales and at the tender age of 13, he left school to become an apprentice Fitter at a coal mine in Ebbw Vale, Wales. In 1961, he met Madge and their magical life together began. They were best friends and loved each other immensely. They travelled the world together, lived in Wales, Canada, and a short while in the US.Bill lived a life defined by kindness and deep devotion to family. He also found great joy in woodworking, completing home and farm projects, and he adored animals, especially dogs and cats. He and Madge bred and showed Dachshund dogs and Balinese cats, and they were the first to introduce long-coated Balinese cats to Canada. He was incredibly knowledgeable and loved to chat over a cup of tea. Bill always listened and made time for people, ensuring they felt seen and cared for, as well as offering quiet advice when most needed.Bill and family are sincerely grateful for the exceptional and attentive care provided by Maryanne, Nora, Fely and his entire care team at Acclaim Health.
Following Bill’s wishes, a private celebration of life will take place in June 2026.
