Miller, William (Bill) Connerty
Peacefully at Georgetown hospital on Good Friday, March 25, 2016 in his 94 year. He was predeceased by Mary his loving bride of 63 years. Bill leaves behind 4 children who loved him very much - Joanne (Glenn), Margo, Barb (Andy) and Dan (Gillian), 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Bill lived an extraordinary life as part of "The Greatest Generation". He grew up in a loving family with 4 sisters in Prescott, Ontario on the St. Lawrence River. At nineteen he became a bomber pilot with the RCAF, was shot down on March 19th, 1943 and spent the rest of WW11 in a prisoner-of-war camp. As a returning veteran Bill would say he then "went down to Queen's" university, graduating as a professional engineer and going on to have a successful career with Bell Canada. Bill worked as an engineer in Canada, Saudi Arabia and Grenada and enjoyed all of his worldwide travels with his Mary. He was a proud Londoner (London, Ontario) where he lived most of his life, took pleasure in every round he played at Sunningdale Golf Club and was always devoted to taking care of his family and his roses.
A special thank you to the doctors and nurses who took tender care of Bill at Georgetown hospital.
A memorial service will take place in the summer of 2016 at the Blue Church in Prescott, a cherished place in the lives and memories of the Miller family.
