IRWIN, William Ross - With broken hearts and deep sadness the family of Ross William Irwin will forever cherish the strength and love of our dear father and grandpa. Due to a long battle with health Ross joined his loving wife Joan Winifred Young on April 29th 2013 in his 79th year. Forever loved and remembered by his loving daughters; Daryl (Frank) Cosgrove and Lauren (Bernie) Egerton. Loving grandpa of Mike Egerton (Jamie De Petrillo), Andrew (Amy) Cosgrove, Diana Egerton, Stacey Cosgrove (Joel Ferreira) and great-grandpa "Big Grandpa" to Jayda Ferreira, Madison Ferreira, Mackenzie Cosgrove and Owen Cosgrove.
Ross was a very dedicated long-time member of the Georgetown and Brampton branches of the Royal Canadian Legion, Georgetown Legion Pipe Band, Georgetown Lion's Club and the Lorne Scots. His devoted love of giving to those in need lead him to years of dedication to services such as the wheelchair campaign through the RCL, the CNIB and most recently his commitment to the North Halton Distress Centre. Ross graduated George Brown College in 1980. His last employment before retirement was Maintenance Manager at Rosedale Golf and Country Club, Toronto.
Friends will be received at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, Georgetown (905) 877-3631 on Wednesday May 1st, 2013 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday May 2nd from 10:00 a.m. with service immediately following in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Georgetown.
