(William) David Hamilton
March 6, 1950 – January 6, 2025
(William) David (Hawkeye) Hamilton passed away Monday, January 6, 2025 peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
Dave was born in Owen Sound to Stuart and Betty May Hamilton on March 6, 1950 and still holds the record for the biggest baby born there. He attended high schools in North Bay and Kirkland Lake (K.L.C.V.I.) where he met some of his closest friends. He achieved a B.A. from U.W.O. and an M.A. from Buffalo in education. He worked in the education field at A.O.C. Edgar, in Hamilton, Toronto and Peel Region, working with special needs students. Golf, hockey, fishing (not hunting), poker (cards) (Seneca Casino) were his life long hobbies. He especially enjoyed time with his sons and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Sally of 52+ years, his mother (Betty May), his sons Michael (Julie) and Chris (Kimberley); his grandchildren Sarah, Katelyn, Cole and Courtney; his brother Bob (Heather), sister Janet (Dave) and numerous cousins and nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to CASHH in Georgetown for everything that they did to support Dave.
Celebration of Life will be held at the Legion Hall in Georgetown on Sunday, February 23 from 12-5pm.
Sharing of stories/memories of Dave would be most welcome.
