William “Billy” Henry Campbell passed away January 8, 2026 surrounded by his three girls. He is survived by cherished daughters, Angie Graham (Chris), Kelly Rutherford (Rick), and Christine Coleman (Sean), and beloved grandchildren Sarah and Myles (Leela) Graham;Marley Rutherford; Campbell, Cuyler, and Eva Coleman. He will also be missed by his former spouse, Dorothy. His much-loved big brother James “Jim” Campbell and nephew Neil will mourn him from Northern Ireland. Billy is predeceased by his parents James and Elizabeth Campbell, niece Leslie Campbell,sister-in-law Norma Campbell, and son-in-law Scotty Rutherford.

Billy was born on “the first of the second forty-four” (February 1, 1944) in Belfast, Northern Ireland. He spent much of his childhood running the streets of Belfast and on the beaches of Bahrain, where his family lived for many years. He returned to Northern Ireland to complete his apprenticeship as a tool and die maker. In 1966, Billy and his new wife, Dorothy moved to Canada to start a new life and a family. They settled in Bramalea, ON where they raised their three daughters. Billy worked very hard for CCM, Continental Can, and Daimler-Chrysler, retiring in 2007. He never turned down an overtime shift as he was keen to provide a secure life for his family. Billy was an exceptionally hard worker who enjoyed his retirement years immensely. He kept himself active and engaged by swimming laps at the Gellert Centre and strolling the streets of Georgetown. Christine must have heard countless times: “I saw your dad out walking yesterday!”

He showed his love for his family in many ways. He bestowed many gifts to his loved ones, especially his three girls. The greatest gift being the ease at which he transitioned from living independently to recognizing the need to move to a new home where he could receive help as he needed after his Alzheimer’s diagnosis.

Billy’s family is grateful beyond words for the kind, generous, and compassionate staff and community at Mountainview Residence and Terrace. Billy loved his home at Mountainview. He felt safe, welcome, and cared for there. May the spirit of his dancing, friendly manner and love live on. Billy will be missed dearly. 100%

Cremation has taken place. As per his wishes, there will be no funeral service. A private celebration of Billy’s life will take place at a later date. Donations can be made to The Hospital for Sick Kids in Billy’s honour for those who wish.
