Passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 8, 2026 in Oakville, with his family in his heart and by his side.

Beloved husband of Linda, Bill was a devoted partner and best friend whose steady presence and quiet strength were the foundation of his family. Loving father of Laura, David (Dolores), and Eric, and is now reunited with their late son, Christopher. Proud and cherished Grandpa of Kenzi, who brought him immeasurable joy.

Bill was the son of the late Rod and Ivy King. He will be dearly missed by his sisters Edith (the late Fred), Sharon (the late Gary), Harriett (Doug), Muriel (Ken), and Ivy (Jim). He was a respected and valued brother-in-law to Lorne (Kathy), Jeanne (the late Al), Coleen, Sherwood (the late Myrna), and Reid (Terri). Bill was predeceased by his mother-in-law Catherine “Olive” MacLeod and father-in-law Arnold MacLeod. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

A graduate of Georgetown District High School, Bill went on to earn his Red Seal Automotive Mechanic License, specializing in Volkswagen and European vehicles. He took great pride in his craft and was known for his skill, honesty, and willingness to lend a hand. Whether under the hood of a car or offering advice, Bill was always ready to help.

Community mattered deeply to Bill. He served as a Boy Scout Cub Leader at St. John’s United Church, guiding young people with patience and encouragement. He also coached Bantam-level hockey, sharing his love of the game and teaching teamwork, dedication, and sportsmanship to countless young players.

Bill’s life was defined by hard work, loyalty, and love for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, quiet wisdom, and unwavering devotion that will continue to live on in those who knew him.

Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown on Friday, March 13, 2026 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Glendale Memorial Gardens, Etobicoke.

In memory of Bill, donations may be made to SickKids, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Georgetown Hospital, or to a charity of your choice.
