William "Ramsay" Barr

Barr, William Ramsay – Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday July 22, 2025 at his home in Georgetown.

Ramsay, in his 83rd year, beloved husband of Julie for 59 years. Loving father of Bill (Cindy) Barr and Kim (Robert) Downie. Loved grandpa of Caitlin, Sam, Ryan, Lorelei and Lucy. Great grandpa of Ella. Sadly missed by his adopted daughter Sarah (Dave) and their children Kaitlyn and Rayna and many friends. Dear brother of Eleanor (John) Vardy. Predeceased by his sister Avril and by his brothers Brian and Kenneth.

Ramsay was a very loyal, reliable and dependable person and was a member of the Toronto Scottish Regiment and the Kinsmen Club of Georgetown for many years. Ramsay will be remembered for his love of family, dependability and infectious character.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Ramsay’s Life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Cancer Assistance Halton Hills would be appreciated.
