William Charles Appleby peacefully passed away on Sunday, October 8th, 2023. Known affectionately as Bill or “Billy” by many, he was celebrated for his generous, lively, and joyful nature. Bill will be deeply missed by his wife Deborah Heighway, his brother Jim Appleby, and his daughters Sarah and Rachel Appleby, who will forever cherish the memory of his spirited love.
Born on July 5, 1950, in Buckingham, Quebec, Bill spent his adolescence in Mississauga, purchased his first home in Brampton and later moved to Norval, Ontario, in the early 1980s to establish his family. He was the second child of Dalton and Madeleine (Cullen) Appleby.
In 1972, Bill earned his Bachelor's Degree from the University of Western in London, Ontario. His passion for real estate led him to the property appraisal industry. In 1986, he founded Appleby Appraisal, becoming a highly esteemed and award-winning Appraiser throughout his career earning the title of President of Appraisal Institute of Canada Credit Valley Chapter. Bill's exceptional expertise and unwavering dedication earned him respect and admiration from both colleagues and clients.
All things related to water were Bill's profound passions. Creating tranquil pond habitats teeming with life brought him solace and contentment. He always enthusiastically shared his various pond landscaping projects, showcasing his love for transforming ordinary spaces into captivating aquatic scenes.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The Upper Credit Humane Society, honoring Bill's passion for animals. All are welcome to attend a visitation memorial to celebrate William's life on Wednesday October 18th from 6-8 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home, Georgetown ON.
