Our hearts are filled with both sadness and gratitude as we celebrate the life of Willem de Kleer. We are sad because we will miss him. We are grateful because we know he is in heaven, living the fullest life that we cannot even imagine.
Bill de Kleer was born on October 22, 1937, in Dedemsvaart, Netherlands. He moved to Canada at the age of 19 with his family who eventually settled in Georgetown. He was dedicated to his work at Varian in Georgetown and is remembered by many there. He spent the rest of his working life at the de Kleer farm on Trafalgar Road. After retiring, he developed hobbies to keep himself busy. One of these was making stained glass and we are thankful for the pieces he left behind as reminders of himself.
Bill’s quiet, but strong faith is a great comfort to us now, but also an example of how to live. Dad knew his Heavenly Father and lived that out in his life here.
Bill was a cherished husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Anne, and his children, Peter and Christina de Kleer, Garret de Kleer, Lesley and Greg Tyrrell, Brian and Cheryl de Kleer, and David and Lisa de Kleer. His grandchildren, Caleb, Quin, Jade, Darcy, Cameron, Ben, Jake, Samantha, and Lincoln, will miss him deeply.
Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown on Tuesday July 29, 2025 from 5-8 p.m. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday July 30, 2025 at the Georgetown Christian Reformed Church, 11611 Trafalgar Road at 1:00 p.m. A private family interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery. Cremation has taken place.
