Warren Evans, at home, following a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Susan, loving father to Andrea and Laura (predeceased), doting grandfather of Jacob, Jessica and Charlotte, special big brother to Victoria and George (Hazel), caring uncle to Michael Warren, Louisa, and Noah. Fondly remembered by numerous cousins and mourned by many long-time childhood friends and extended Canadian Association of Professional Speakers (CAPS) family. His exuberance, optimism, encouragement, and willingness to mentor people will long be remembered. Friends may call as the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown, September 2-3, 6 to 9 p.m. Celebration of Life Service on September 4 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Laura's Hope (through Huntington's Society of Canada) gratefully received.
Warren's corporate career roots are in sales and marketing management. From the late '70's into the early 90's he built a boutique consulting firm, The Service Excellence® Group Inc., that made its' name doing strategy work and change-implementation projects based on their highly respected Service Management models.
Since then he worked as an independent, focusing on the trends analysis and strategic planning components that were always part of these initiatives.
His trends work revolved around looking at how the major trends are interacting with each other, in an effort to determine how they are most likely to actually play out. Often running against conventional wisdom, this 'trends blending' approach allowed him to correctly call everything from corporate priorities and stock market swings, to real estate values and election results. His client list included every size and sector (including national economic development entities), and covered 30+ countries on 6 continents.
He brought synthesis, pragmatism, and business experience to any discussion.
Warren was also a popular speaker at conferences and corporate meetings.
(he was the third person inducted into the Canadian Speaking Hall of Fame)
He held Executive leadership positions in a variety of professional associations, both nationally and internationally, and was the recipient of numerous awards and designations within his industry. Additionally, He held memberships in Rotary and Mensa.
He served as Chair of the Board of Governors of Laura's Hope, a global research fund accelerating clinical trials for treatments for Huntington's disease.
