Ursula Rode

Suddenly, on Tues February 11, 2025 in Georgetown, in her 90th year. Cherished Daughter, Sister, Mother, Aunt, Oma, Uroma and a friend to many. Preceded by her husband Herbert Rode. Beloved mother of Heike (Rode) and Tony Ciufo and Cindy (Perkins) and Peter Rode. Loved daughter of George and Meta. Dear sister of Ute and Peter. Loving Oma of Bianca, Nick, Shannon, Steven and Adam. Cherished Uroma of Dahlia and Winona.

Ursula will always be remembered for her kind, generous and positive ways, always finishing off a sentence with a little laugh. She had a great love of travel, music and dancing. It gave the family a great sense of joy to see her and her husband twirling the night away on the dance floor. Although memory failed in later years it was not unusual for her to break out in an old German song from her youth or a heartwarming rendition of "Que Sera, Sera". Later in life, when it was her turn to be cared for, her foremost thought was “how were the kids doing” and not of herself. From the time when the family discovered that Ursula meant "little she-bear", the family’s Christmas tree was always topped with the little stuffed bear. Our beloved she-bear will always be watching over us.
