Tanya Brisley

BRISLEY, Tanya - Beloved wife of Kevin, devoted mother to Jacob and Alayne, and daughter of Dennis and Riemke. Tanya will forever be loved and remembered by her family, her friends, her fellow teachers, and her students. When Tanya wasn’t teaching, you could usually find her reading, tending to her beautiful gardens, watching the Blue Jays, modifying recipes to make them her own, listening to vinyls on her record player, looking after animals, and caring for her loved ones. Despite initially wanting to be a high school English teacher, Tanya found her place at Park Public School where she excelled teaching the early elementary grades. Tanya had a unique way of reaching her students through a combination of personal connection, work ethic, and humour. Even though she was quiet and reserved, Tanya was able to make friends everywhere she went. Tanya was a compassionate soul who acted as a beacon of light to those who knew her. She always had a love of lighthouses and just like a lighthouse, the light of Tanya’s love helped guide those around her through the many challenges of life.
