Steven Andrew Pietras
It is with deep sorrow that we share the news of Steven’s sudden passing on April 4th, 2026, at the young age of 22. He was joyfully loved and will be missed immensely by his mother, Mary Jo Pietras; father, Mark Pietras; brother, Andrew Pietras; and sister, Shannon Pietras. Steven made many friends who will miss his laughter, kind-hearted curiosity, and wholly authentic personality. He was also loved and cherished by his many aunts, uncles and cousins who shared much laughter, smiles, and heartful conversations with Steven. In particular, his Uncle Steve Coughlin was an unwavering blessing in his life and consistently offered him guidance, friendship, steady and strong compassion, and protection when he needed it most.
Steven was a resourceful young man. From a young age he loved to “bomb around” outdoors. He spent hours outside playing hockey, lacrosse, skateboarding, exploring the woods, and knocking on everyone’s door to see if they were around to play. That never changed. His athleticism was on full display by the time he turned 10. He was a promising hockey player and a reliable defenseman. Although school cut into the time that he could be spending making the most of what the world had to offer, he had a sharp intellect. He liked to remind us of his mental math skills, he asked thoughtful questions, and he was a remarkably perceptive movie critic.
He was also a kind and sensitive person. Steven loved to connect with people. He especially valued the days, weeks, months, and years that he got to share with his sister Shannon. Steven was the first to volunteer to perform a dance, sing a song, and go wildly off script if the setting called for it. He sang when he felt like it and he spoke when he had something to say. There was never any question that if Steven was around there was another memory to make, story to share, or conversation to be had.
Steven was as genuine as the sky. His authenticity, loyalty, and dedication to the people he cared for made him a respectable and inspiring person to be around. He touched the lives of many in his short 22 years.
He will be profoundly missed as he was deeply loved.
