Steven Gregory Coles

It is with heavy hearts we share the passing of Steven Gregory Coles (Feb. 23, 1954 - July 8, 2025).

Steve was a pillar of our community. He provided free concerts from his living room – playing his guitar so loud, people would wander up the road wondering where the party was. He would spend his weekends exploring the Bruce Trail, wandering through downtown, supporting local businesses and never missed an opportunity to celebrate with his family over dinner at House of Buddha.

Steve was the embodiment of unconditional love, and he worked to spread that to everyone around him. Whether hosting barbeques around his pool, offering his wisdom and encouragement, Steve had a special talent for fostering deep connections and making sure everyone was taken care of.

Steve was a proud father of four sons and a daughter – Matthew, Luke, Benjamin, Xaniel and Ruby. He was an exceptional grandfather to Lillian; and watching them spend time together was magic. Steve loved being a father and a grandfather, and he was really good at it.

Steve is survived by three brothers Brandon (Elaine), Peter (Jan) and Philip (Ismat); along with his nieces and nephews; Lyndsay (Angelo), Christopher (Laura), Jonathan, Natalie (Carl), Shannon (Candace), Meghan and Zachary (Melissa); and his beloved great nieces and nephews. Steve is predeceased by his mother, Jean Coles, whom he cared for deeply.

Steve will be greatly missed by family, friends and neighbours alike. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Georgetown Bread Basket or the Scott Mission.
