Stephen Walter Tilley

June 1, 1956 — March 19, 2020

It is with great sadness that the family of Stephen Tilley announces his sudden passing on Thursday, March 19, 2020.
Stephen Walter Tilley, loving husband and father of two, passed away at the age of 63.
Steve was born on June 1, 1956 in Toronto, Ontario, to Reverend Stephen and Lillian (Beecroft) Tilley. He married Lynda Palmer from Georgetown, Ontario, and together they raised two sons, Aaron (Melissa), and Amos (Danielle).
Known by many as a rebel with a cause, Steve's dedication to caring for others was evident through his many years of service in camp ministry. His love of camp started with summers and great friends at Glen Rocks on Lake Rosseau, continued with family camping at MBC and culminated with over twenty years devoted to Moorelands Camp; a charity dedicated to serving kids affected by poverty. Countless hours of grounds-keeping, boat driving, endless repairs and bantering with staff filled Steve's days at camp. Serving others gave him purpose.
Steve also had a love for football. He played at school, started pickup games at Canadian Bible College, and coached for years with Brampton Bulldogs, even coaching some players who went on to play professionally!
He surrendered his rebel heart to God; his faith was his foundation.
His most recent and proudest role was as 'Gramps' to his three grandsons, Elkan, Jeriah and Armour, who will miss him dearly.
He was dedicated to his family: Husband, Dad, Coach, Bushwacker (B-dubs, BW), Gramps…he was called by many names AND now he has been called home.
In honour of Steve's life, help a child through Moorelands Camp, at www.moorelands.ca A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
