Stella Succee

Succee, Stella – Passed peacefully on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at the Georgetown Hospital, at the age of 93, with her family by her side. Stella was the beloved partner of William “Billy” Stone for almost twenty years. Loving mother of Bruce (Dorothy), Rick (Kathy), and Nancy (Richard). Cherished Grandma of Craig (Savana), Sarah, Matthew (Annie), Nicholas (Madeline), Christopher, and Rory (Savannah). Great-Grandma of Juliette.

Stella was predeceased by her siblings Mary, Ann, Evelyn, and Paul, as well as by her late husband of 53 years, Richard “Dick” Succee.

Born the second youngest of five children in the 1930s, Stella was a quietly resilient woman. Her life was filled with love, laughter, and energy, all of which she poured into her family and friends.

Stella found great joy in cooking for her family and celebrating special occasions together. A talented cook and baker, she rarely needed a recipe, and her family fondly remembers her famous Christmas baking, especially her cookies, which became a beloved family tradition.

Stella played an important role in helping raise her grandchildren, always offering love, support, and guidance. She enjoyed a good social gathering with dancing, drinks, and plenty of homemade food, and she was a dedicated Toronto sports fan ‘til the end.

One of her grandchildren summed it best, “She loved us deeply, and there wasn’t something she wouldn’t try to do to support us. Simply put, I’ll miss her.”

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Patsy and Darryl for all their help over the years.

Stella will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In honour of Stella, memorial donations may be made to the SickKids Foundation, or your local Humane Society, as these causes were dear to her heart.
