Stacie Gibson Power

July 1, 2022 — July 1, 2022

Stacie Gibson Power. Our hearts are broken. Stacie died rather suddenly in her 50th year, but peacefully, surrounded by her family on July 1, 2022 after a brief battle with advanced melanoma. Stacie is lovingly remembered by the loves of her life - her husband Tyrone, her beloved daughter, Leila, and her 2 dogs, Jovi and Halen. Also fiercely loved by her parents, Grace and Wayne, her sister, Melissa, brother-in-law, Gary, and nephew, Alden. She also leaves behind her extended family Ron and Shirley, Chris and Corrine, Kent and Michelle, Keith and Janice and her nieces and nephews: Emma, Hailey, Bethany, Riley, Keisha and Lynnsey; as well as her aunts, uncles and dozens of cousins and her dearest friend, Chana. Stacie was an avid reader who loved art, music and photography. She taught for over 20 years, most recently at St. Alphonsus Catholic school. Stacie loved being with people (often putting others before herself), especially being at family events. She deeply cherished her summer road trips with Leila and her many visits to Newfoundland. Stacie loved to laugh – even at the drop of a hat. We will love and miss her forever. Thanks to the staff at Princess Margaret Hospital, and a special thanks to nurses Yang, Alaine and Murray and Dr. Herridge at Toronto General Hospital's ICU. A funeral mass will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at Holy Cross Parish (14400 Argyll Road, Georgetown ON). The mass will be recorded and available for viewing on this website. If attending in person, please wear a mask. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation or the UHN Foundation.
