Simone Marina van der Zande – Passed on Sunday April 12, 2026, in Fergus, Ontario at the age of 55 years. Beloved partner of Larry. Cherished mother of Benjamen (Emily), Mathew (Victoria), Curtis, and William. Fondly remembered by their father Richard. Proud grandmother of Vivienne, Charlotte, and Samantha. Daughter of Dienie and the late Johannes. Sister of John, the late Rudy, Diana, Estee, Robert, Marie-Jose, and Renate. Aunt of thirteen nieces and nephews. Simone will be missed by her friends and family.
Simone leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and unwavering authenticity. She was a caring and loving soul whose presence brought comfort and warmth to everyone she met. With a big heart and a generous spirit, Simone always put others first, showing deep consideration, gratitude and compassion in even the smallest moments. She focused on what truly mattered, never wasting time on the small stuff, and lived each day with intention and grace.
Above all, Simone was strong. Through every challenge, she carried herself with resilience and courage that inspired those around her. Simone was genuine to her core, a straight shooter who spoke with honesty and lived with integrity.
Her adventurous nature and positive outlook on life made every experience richer and every memory brighter.
Simone will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her strength, warmth, and spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
