Lyons, Shirley Marie

Peacefully, on Wednesday May 22, 2024 at the Georgetown Hospital. Shirley, in her 96th year, wife of the late David Lyons (1977). Loving mother of Ken, Bruce (Jennifer) and the late Bob and Cathy. Loved grandma of Leanne (James), David (Raluca), James, Emily, Nathan and Tristan. Great grandma of Jadyn, Jaxon, Rowan and Lucas. Dear sister of Anne (Glenn) and the late Phyllis. Shirley enjoyed rug hooking, sewing and making teddy bears and will be remembered for her artistic nature and wonderful sense of humor. Shirley was a trail blazer in rug hooking and was a past President of the Ontario Hooking Craft Guild and the founder of the Georgetown Rug Hooking Guild.

Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown (905) 877-3631 on Wednesday May 29, 2024 from 10 a.m. until time of service in the chapel at 11 a.m. Reception to follow in the Trafalgar Room. Memorial contributions to Cancer Assistance of Halton Hills would be appreciated.
