Sandra Lee McIntyre

On Feb. 4, 2025, after many years of living with debilitating illnesses, Sandra L. McIntyre passed away peacefully in Georgetown Hospital. She was 85, just shy of her 86th birthday.

Predeceased by her husband of 60 years, James W. McIntyre, who passed away in February 2022.

She is survived by her sons, Bradley J. McIntyre (spouse Rene McIntyre), and Brent L. McIntyre. As well as by her daughters, Erin A. Russin (spouse Robert Russin), Jill C. Manning (partner Mark Rowan). Grandmother of Shannon Manning, James Russin, Prestynn McIntyre, Macie McIntyre and Emilie Clarke. Great grandmother of Anastasia and Eden.

Sandra was extremely talented and thoroughly enjoyed partaking and excelling in many hobbies over the years; gardening, quilting, woodworking, rug hooking, knitting, crocheting, sewing and photography.

She was passionate about the outdoors and had a deep love of nature. She loved and embraced any opportunity to travel within her beloved country, Canada, as well as overseas.

She certainly knew her way around the kitchen and was well regarded among friends and family for her fabulous and elegant dinner parties.

Even when busy raising 4 children, she carved out a generous amount of time and energy to volunteer with many various organizations over the years. She had a brief career in nursing and was recognized for her volunteer work with the Victorian Order of Nurses.

She was very grateful for and fond of her Norval United Church family.

Endless thanks to the staff at Mountainview Residence for all their care, patience, support, and warmth. We would also like to thank the palliative care staff at Georgetown Hospital for their kindness, compassion and support during her final days.

A memorial service will be held on March 22nd at 11a.m. at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown, followed by a light luncheon reception. Family, friends, and neighbours are welcome.

In honour of Sandra, memorial contributions may be made to Tree Canada or Nature Conservancy of Canada.
