Ron Marchand

Marchand, Ronald Lewis – We are saddened to announce that Ron passed away on Monday, October 31, 2022 at the Georgetown Hospital after a courageous 15 month battle with Glioblastoma. Ron was 61 years old, his claim to fame being the first baby boy born at the Georgetown Hospital. Ron was married to his best friend Kimberley for 36 wonderful years. It has been “Ron and Kim” for the past 43 years. Loving father of Jennifer (Mike), and proud Papa of Noah and Everett. Favourite uncle of Michelle (Jeff) and their children Nicholas and Olivia. Ron will be missed by his brother  Robert (Carol), their daughter Bobbie, and by his sister Ruthann (The late Wayne). Predeceased by parents Norene and Godfrey Marchand, brother Allen Marchand, and by his Mother and Father-in-law Mary and Terry Dickinson. Ron will be dearly missed by all of his friends and family on Janet Court; he was loved by all who had the great opportunity to know him. Many thanks to the staff at the Georgetown Hospital Complex Transitional Care unit, and especially to Dr. Razvi who truly went above and beyond the call of duty. Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown, on Monday, November 7, 2022 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place in the chapel on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada or to the Georgetown Hospital Foundation are greatly appreciated.
