Robert William Wands

March 28th 1940 – May 29th 2023

Robert (Bob) William Wands 4th passed away surrounded by family on May 29th, 2023 in his 83rd year of life. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Mary Viola Wands (nee O’Brien) of 56 years; children Deborah (Dean) Marks, Jennifer (Ron) Di Carlo, Robert (Alanna) Wands. Loving Grandfather of 7 Grand Children who he adored Dustin, Adam, Benjamin, Todd, Liam, Hudson and Kailea.

Bob was the youngest of two children from parents Robert and Jenny, sister Bette (deceased) (Gord), Aunt Sophie. They were a loving family from Toronto.

Bob attended Northern Technical High School in Toronto where he excelled in art. After graduation he attended the Ontario College of Art. Bob then joined the Canadian Navy as a scuba diver for 3 years. He boasted proudly that he joined the Navy not to see the world but for the world to see him.

He started his career as a salesman with a passion for design at Exhibit 4 in Lachine Quebec. He purchased Taylor Manufacturing Inc., (Taylor) in 1980. He moved his family of 5 from Saddlebrooke, Quebec to Georgetown, Ontario in 1981. He proudly built a world class exhibit manufacturing company for the next 30 years. His career enabled Bob to travel the world. He was especially proud of his work with the Worlds Fairs, Hockey Hall of Fame, many museum projects and countless tradeshow booths globally. It brought Bob great joy in employing hundreds of people over the years. He treated all his employees like family.

Bob’s hobbies included golf, art, scuba diving, skiing, curling, world travel, swimming, music, wine collecting with a passion for nature. He kept us all laughing with his quick wit and ‘Bobisims’.

Its time that we say farewell to Bob, not goodbye, as he will always be cherished and remembered. You were a great husband, Dad, Grandfather, mentor, and friend.
