June 10, 1960 - February 3, 2016
We are sad to announce the sudden passing of Bob, the much loved son of John Akira and the late Kathleen; brother of George and Susan; uncle of Laura (Jackie Skinner), Bryan and Jeff. Bob will be missed by many relatives and friends.
With undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Toronto, Bob enjoyed varied and eclectic interests and hobbies including baseball, classical music, literature and all things Olympic.
Bob was a longtime and active resident of Extendicare Halton Hills and the family extends its sincere gratitude for the many years of care and attention. Special thanks to Shawn Fenlong for his dedicated support.
Friends and family may call at Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road (N. Of Maple Ave), Georgetown L7G 4Y5 on Wednesday February 10, 4-7pm; Thursday February 11, 9-10am. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Thursday February 11 at 11am at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 14400 Argyll Road, Georgetown, L7G 5S6. Reception to immediately follow in the church hall. Internment at a later date.
