Robert Bruce Paul Sparling, 58, of Norval passed away at home on the morning of Sunday Jan 26, 2014 with loving wife and companion Carol at his side.He was born to the late Ivan and Kathleen Sparling, March 10th 1955 in Brampton ON. Bruce attended Streetsville High School and from there went on to obtain his Masters Electrician Licence from George Brown College. Bruce loved spending time with family and friends. His favorite activities included boating, skiing, camping, snowmobiling, dancing, and sharing a good bonfire. Weekends and free-time were spent at his "club house" in the Beaver Valley as he had a great appreciation for the land and the view. He spent many years coaching softball in Hornby, and more recently enjoyed watching his granddaughters learn how to swim at their weekly lessons. Bruce married Carol (Morrison) in 1980 and together they had three children; Bonnie (Chad), Kate (Scott) and predeceased by son Eric (Aug 2006). He is survived by grandchildren Aubree and Clare and was excited to welcome a 3rd grandchild due this coming April. Loved brother of Bill (Marilyn), John (Wanda), Carol (Lanny), and Susie (Rick) and predeceased by Ivan (Judy). Special brother in-law to Jim (Pat), Margo (Gord), and Gord (Sue). Bruce was a fun and loving uncle to his many nieces and nephews who will miss him greatly and could always count on him for creating many fun memories. He had many lifelong friends who will ensure that his antics and spirit are shared amongst the next generation of Sparlings. Visitation will be held at J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home in Georgetown on Friday January 31 from 2pm-4pm & 7pm-9pm. On Saturday February 1st a Celebration of Life will be held at the Acton Legion from 1pm-4pm with a Service starting at 1:30pm. It will be immediately followed by a social reception. In lieu of flowers, donations to celebrate Bruce's life can be made to Cancer Assistance Serving Halton Hills C.A.S.H.H.
Bruce lived a vibrant life full of fun, adventure, and love. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him but we take comfort in knowing that he is reunited with son and best friend Eric.
