Robert Alexander William Rumsey August 8, 1938 - May 7, 2013
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Rumsey at Credit Valley Hospital in his 75th year after a long struggle with diabetes, kidney failure and heart disease. Predeceased by his parents William Otto Rumsey and Margaret Ormiston Rumsey (nee Douglas). Dear husband of Janice Rumsey for almost 49 years. Loving father of Christine Rumsey (Harry Tittelmeier), David Rumsey (Ellen), and Jennifer Baptie (Daniel). Proud grandfather to his 7 granddaughters, Kylene Engleby, Emily Tittelmeier, Eryn Rumsey, Gillian Rumsey, Amanda Baptie, Meghan Baptie, and Laura Baptie. Born in Montreal, Bob taught science and biology, first at Chomedy High School in Quebec, then for 27 years at Georgetown District High School. Bob enjoyed his hobbies: photography, painting, furniture making, and especially model railroading. He will be sadly missed by his family. Take care Bob/Dad/ Poppa, we love you.
Friends and family will be received at J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Rd., Georgetown 905-877-3631on Friday May 10th, from 7pm-9pm. Funeral service will be held in the chapel at the Jones Funeral Home, on Saturday May 11th at 2pm.
