Passed away peacefully with his wife by his side at the Georgetown Hospital on Friday, April 22, 2016 at the age of 71. Doug was the beloved husband of Theresa (Kuskowicz) for 43 years. Dearly loved father of Jennifer (Mark) Gernon and David (Soula) Gregory. Adored grandfather of Mia and Patrick Gernon and Matthew Gregory. Dear brother of Janet (Gord) Guest of Kelowna, B.C. Predeceased by his parents Edmund and Muriel Gregory and in-laws John and Mary Kuskowicz. Dear brother-in-law of Roman and Alicja Kuskowicz, Irene (late Helmut) Brandstetter and Ken and Luise Morano. He will be fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and coffee buddies. Doug was born in Ottawa on May 1, 1944 and raised in Lindsay and Sault Ste. Marie. He was an aircraft maintenance engineer who worked for Canadian Pacific Airlines at bases in Vancouver, Edmonton and Toronto. Doug retired in 2003 from Air Canada. Following retirement, he volunteered for Habitat for Humanity for several years. Doug enjoyed traveling and was a handy-man at heart who loved the outdoors, camping, canoeing and skiing. Friends will be received at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, north of Maple Avenue, Georgetown 905-877-3631 from 7-9 pm on Tuesday, April 26, 2016. Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Parish, 14400 Argyll Road, Georgetown at 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 27, 2016. Interment Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
