Diamond, Robert (Bob)

July 7, 1962 – January 31, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Robert (Bob) Diamond. Bob died peacefully at home on January 31, 2024 at the age of 61, surrounded by his loving spouse Liliane Boucher, his cherished son Zack, and his treasured immediate family.

His forever present smile will be forever etched in our hearts. He shared unconditionally his smiles and laughs with everyone as he was known for his generous hospitality and for hosting memorable gatherings in his "man cave" and Tiki Bar; always ready for a game of cards or pool. He was a lifelong Toronto Maple Leafs fan and had a great passion for fishing and tall tales.

Bob was the beloved son of the late Hugh Diamond and of the late Teresa (né Gonneau) Diamond. He is survived by the love of his life Liliane Boucher, his son Robert Zachary (Zach) Diamond and his step-daughter Sheila Carruthers and grandson Lucas Capotosto. He was an extraordinary brother and leaves behind his three (3) brothers, Dan (Kathy), Ken and Tom (Elizabeth) and his sister Nancy (Chris Boismier). Bob will also be deeply missed by his precious nieces and nephews: Julia (Micah), Hilary (Sean), Michael, Nick (Maddie), and Matt (Michelle).

Born and raised in Georgetown, Bob chose to build his family close to his roots, surrounded by family and lifelong friends. His departure leaves a void in the hearts of everyone who knew him in Georgetown and at Maple Leaf Acres; we will forever be blessed by his life.

The family would like to thank all the staff of Acclaim Health Nursing Services and the Halton LHIN staff. Their excellent care, moral support and great kindness during Bob’s end of life care and his very challenging battle with cancer, was truly appreciated. A very special mention to CAShh, the Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills, for their compassionate support, we treasured every minute of their assistance.

Your sympathy may translate into a donation in Bob’s memory to CAShh, the Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills at https://cancerassistance.org/.

The family will receive condolences in the presence of the ashes at the Jones Funeral Home located at 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown, Ontario, L7G 4S4, on Sunday February 4 from 10:00am to 12:00noon. A brief service will take place at the funeral home chapel at 12:00 noon.

Following the service, you are invited to join us at 1:00pm at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 120, located at 127 Mill St. Georgetown. You are invited to cherish the warmth of his spirit and the joy he brought to all who knew him by having a drink in Bob’s memory with us. A light lunch will also be available.
