With great sadness we announce the passing of Robert Cameron Allison on Monday January 5 at the age of 71.
Rob is survived by his loving wife Shelley(Baker), his cherished children Scott(Sandra Ugrin) and Jenny, his adoring grandchildren Russell, Lucy and Beaudin, his brother Paul(Julie Burns), his sister Lori Coughlin and many nieces and nephews. He will be lovingly remembered by the Baker and Smith families.
Rob was predeceased by his parents Murt and Fran Allison, stepmother Millie Smith and brother in law Greg Coughlin. Rob began his career in farm equipment with Murt Allison Equipment Co Ltd.. Murt was a Massey Ferguson dealer who started selling the Kubota line soon after Kubota came to Canada in 1975. It was meant to be when Rob started with Kubota in 1981 as a Regional Sales Manager. He retired from his beloved company in 2021 as the Director of Brand. In that capacity he cultivated and maintained relationships for various Kubota partnerships - the CFL, the CHL, Choko Motorsports, Brad Gushue Curling Team and Gord Bamford to name a few. In recent years he focused on the development and branding for The Sanctuary Concert Hall, raising awareness and funds for the Townsend Smith Foundation North Halton Hospice and being our treasured “Gramps”. Rob’s other passions included leadership roles and singing in the choir at St. John’s, travelling the world with family and friends, golf, squash, driving his Corvette, riding his Kubota, and making a mean Margarita or Manhattan.
We thank his many wonderful caregivers - his Family Dr., his Urologist, his Oncology doctors, nurses and technicians at Credit Valley Hospital and Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, his Palliative Care team, Acclaim Health team, Ontario Health at Home team and the staff and volunteers at Hospice Wellington in Guelph.
Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown (905)877-3631 on Friday January 16, 2026 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. A memorial service will be held at St. John's United Church, 11 Guelph Street, Georgetown on Saturday at 11:00 am. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers kindly donate to St. John’s United Church of Georgetown and Glen Williams (Local Fund), The Townsend Smith Foundation North Halton Hospice, Hospice Wellington or Cancer Assistance Halton Hills.
