Richard C. Mounsey

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Richard Craig Mounsey on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at the age of 63.

Richard was the beloved son of Duncan Mounsey (Laura Weihs), and the late Patricia Mounsey and father to Grace. He will be deeply missed by his brother David (Tamara) and fondly remembered by his nephews, Graeme and Liam, and nieces Sydney and Taylor.

Larger than life, Richard lived each day with extraordinary zest, curiosity, and humour. He had an unmatched passion for history—especially all things Churchill and the Second World War—and was always ready to share a spirited debate over a bottle of fine scotch. A voracious reader and an engaging storyteller, Richard made every conversation count.

Whether on his boat, socializing with his cherished Marina family, enjoying the quiet beauty of his farm, or surrounded by his cars, like his vintage Rolls-Royce and Bentley, Richard found joy in the world around him.

He was a man of many pursuits and even more projects—always creating, always building, and generously offering guidance and advice. He took immense pride in growing his businesses and, more importantly, in supporting others along the way. His generosity, loyalty, and unshakable character left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown, on May 22, 2025, at a come and go reception in the Trafalgar Room, from 5 to 8 pm with a Celebration of Richard’s Life at 7 pm.
