Peacefully, Regina Mary McLean (nee Collins) passed away on March 8 at the Milton Hospital surrounded by her family. Regina is survived by her husband of 59 years, Harry, their sons, Greg (Jayne), Frank (Becky) and Alan (Vicki), her sister, Maureen (Jim), and brother Patrick (Shirley).
Regina is the proud grandmother, or more affectionately known as Nanny, to Abigael, Lucas (Chloe), Dashiel, Lia, Paige, Gilles and Aiden and great grandmother to Carly and Kylie. She was loved by many nieces and nephews of the Collins and McLean families.
She is predeceased by her parents, John and Irene Collins, sisters Patricia (John) and Donna (Greg) and daughter- in-law Susan.
Born in Riverhead, Harbour Grace, Newfoundland, Gina, as she was fondly known, graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1965 and after briefly working in this role, soon met her Prince Charming, Harry, and was whisked to Ontario to begin her new life in 1967.
She worked at Northern Electric, Canada Post and ultimately became a more than capable and very tolerant carpenter apprentice for her husband. Regina lived most of her adult life in Georgetown with a small detour to Mildmay, Ontario where she and Harry endured living in the snowbelt for 10 years before setting back in Georgetown and condo life.
Regina was a kind and empathetic soul willing to help out anyone she knew. She was a devout Catholic and active member of Holy Cross Parish. Those who knew her could attest that she lived her faith day in and day out. There weren’t many days where she couldn't be found in the kitchen with her bible, Rosary and a cup of tea.
She loved her family greatly followed closely by her pets, Hobo, Chico, Stormy, Kramer and Barney. And most recently, she found much joy and amusement in scratch tickets,
Regina will be fondly remembered by her extended family, friends and former colleagues.
A funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Church, Georgetown, on Friday March 20, 2026, beginning at 10:30am, immediately followed by a lunch and Celebration of Life in the church hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Lung Association or Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.
