Peter Leonard Newey

Peter Newey 4th July 1954 - 17th July 2022 Peter passed away when his heart stopped suddenly and unexpectedly at home on 17th July 2022. His strong devotion to his family will live on through his loving wife Margaret, his Mother-in-law Maureen, three sisters Carol, Patricia & Gwendoline, and two brothers Colin and Warren. Never one to say I can’t Peter was always striving for something new to learn. From skiing, horse riding, archery and latterly triathlons. If he couldn’t do it, then he would seek out lessons. In 1998 Peter and his wife Margaret emigrated to Canada where they began new adventures. Peter found a new passion, triathlon racing, and, dragging Margaret along into the same passion he went on to complete seventeen triathlons his longest being the Disney Half Ironman. A private funeral will take place at Jones Funeral home in Georgetown at 11am on 15th August 2022 The family requests that a donation in lieu of flower may be made to “The Mikey Network” a local charity that provides defibrillators in public spaces.
