Peter Forbes

Peter Vincent Forbes, born on October 22, 1952, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2025, at 3:40 PM at Hamilton General Hospital, following a fall. In his final moments, Peter was surrounded by the love and support of his family, a testament to his resilience and determination throughout his life.

Peter was a devoted father to P.J. (Terri) Forbes and their family, David Forbes and his family, and Doug (Kathy) Forbes and their family. He cherished his grandchildren deeply and took immense pride in being their loving grandfather. His legacy as a mentor and supporter will be forever remembered, as he was a guiding force for those he loved. He always led by example, offering encouragement, wisdom, and unwavering support to his children and grandchildren.

Peter was predeceased by his beloved wife, Janice Marie Forbes, who was his partner in life and love. Their bond was unbreakable, and they are now reunited in peace.

He was also a loving brother to Ruthie (Jerry), Nancy, and David (Marla), and was predeceased by his parents, John and Dorothy Forbes. Peter joins his late siblings, Heidi, Paul, and Hughie in rest.

Known for his unyielding strength, warmth, and generosity, Peter's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy of kindness, determination, and love will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have been a part of his life.

In accordance with Peter's wishes, there will be no formal service. A cremation will take place privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in memory of Peter to the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides or to the Hamilton General Hospital ICU, where Peter received such compassionate care.

Peter's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported him and them through this time. His presence will be forever missed, but his spirit will remain with us always.
