Patrick "Pat" Bruce Pound

It is with great regret and a heavy heart that our families inform you of the death of Patrick Bruce Pound. Pat grew up in a happy home in Alexandra, P.E.I., the son of Fred and Julie Pound, as the seventh child in a family of ten. In his mid-twenties, he hopped on his motorcycle and moved to Toronto in search of new adventures. He worked in heavy construction and became an exceptional machine operator, working alongside his brothers Mike and Joey. Pat met Patricia Kelly, fell in love, and together they had their daughter Katie, who became their most cherished love. Pat started Wellington Excavating & Tree Service and made many friends with his infectious charm with years of laughter and camaraderie. With Fox Run Retirement Home growing, Pat decided to dissolve his business and help nurture this new venture with Patty. This gave him time to watch and encourage his daughter blossom into a vocalist, who studied at and graduated from the Manhattan School of Music and New York University, which gave him immense pride. Pat was thankful to have met Katie’s boyfriend, Josh, who passed the Dad test with flying colors (barely). 

Pat left us too early due to failing health, but we fondly remember his impromptu dancing, love of music, and quick-witted humor. He will be deeply missed by all who knew this wonderful man, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. Pat is survived by his siblings Faye (Michael Gaudet), Jillian (Doug Howard), Karen (Jim Spears), Lorna (Roger McGregor), Leslie (Jim Buckley), Donna (Danny Bernard), Joseph (Christine Weller), and Paula (Heath MacIntyre). Pat was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Julie, as well as his brother and best friend Michael, and his niece Anna Howard. He will also be missed by Patty's brother, Gordon Dawe (Michelle), and sister, Jackie Yundt (Bill). He will be missed by all of his nieces and nephews on both sides of the family and by his lifelong friends.

Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road Georgetown, on Sunday, May 3, 2026 from 1-2 p.m. A funeral service will take place in the chapel at 2 p.m.  Followed by refreshments in the Trafalgar room.
