Patricia Mae Mccartan

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia Mae McCartan (nee Emmerson) on May 3, 2025 at Amica Georgetown at the age of 77. She was a beloved sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 44 years, Terence McCartan. She leaves behind her daughters Sharon (Abel) and Erin (Gregory,) as well as her stepson Terence Jr. (Zoë.) She also leaves behind her grandchildren Nolan, Oscar, Gabriel, Amelia, and Brendan. She is survived by her sister Janice, and her brother Jack (Donna.)

Born in Ottawa, Patricia became a teacher after graduating from Carleton University. She loved helping children learn and grow, and worked with the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School board for over 25 years. She was a lifelong lover of the arts, and was always singing, playing music, or creating pieces of artwork. In later years, Patricia was rarely seen without her crochet hooks in hand. Playing with her grandchildren also brought her great joy.

The family extends its’ gratitude to Amica Georgetown, where she lived and was cared for with compassion and kindness in her last year of life.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 17th, 2025 at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada are greatly appreciated.
