Ove Svend Andersen

On June 5, 2025, we said our fond farewells to our intrepid Viking, Ove Svend Andersen, who trusting in God’s grace, left on his next saga.

Born in Copenhagen, Denmark on September 3, 1945, Ove leaves behind family and good friends on multiple continents. Loving father to Henrik (Sanne) Koch. Proud grandfather to Ulrikke, Nikolaj and Johanne. Brother-in-law of Daniel (Josiane) Gaudreau. Caring uncle to nieces and nephews in Ontario and Quebec. A few of those who have gone before Ove, beloved wife, Jacqeline (2019), sister-in-law, Helen Steeves (2025) and mother-in-law, Joyce Gaudreau (2023).

We would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Georgetown Hospital’s Complex Transitional Care Department for their sensitivity and expertise in the care of Ove.

A celebration of life will take place Saturday, June 7, at St. Andrew’s United Church, Mountainview Road, Georgetown at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills would be appreciated.
