Oonagh Marguerite Duff

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Oonagh, a beloved mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, cousin, aunt, nearly a great granny and a friend, who left this world on Friday, February 13th, 2026 at the age of 84. She is survived by her three daughters Deborah Allison (James), Darleen Angela, Deanne Alysia. Her two granddaughters Caitlin (John) and Gabriela (Siham). Her three grandsons Kenan, Dylan and Eduardo & her unborn great grandson. She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Eric Duff and her son Ian Stuart Duff. Oonagh was the heart of our family — a steady source of love, strength, and wisdom.

Born on June 8 1941 in Trinidad and Tobago, she lived a life defined by kindness, resilience, and deep devotion to those she loved. She had a gift for making people feel seen and cared for. Whether it was through her warm hugs, her comforting meals, her laughter filling the room, or the quiet advice she gave when it was needed most, she made ordinary moments feel extraordinary. Her home was a place of welcome, where no one ever left hungry or unheard. As a mother and grandmother, she was simply irreplaceable. She celebrated every milestone, remembered every birthday, and offered unconditional love that never wavered. Her stories, her traditions, and the lessons she passed down will continue to guide us for generations.

She found joy in God / music / church / and sewing, she carried that joy into the lives of everyone around her. Her strength during difficult times showed us what grace truly looks like. Though our hearts ache in her absence, we are profoundly grateful for the years we were blessed to share with her. Her love is woven into who we are, and her memory will remain our greatest inheritance. She was the matriarch of our family. We will forever cherish her love, her laughter, and the light she brought into our lives. Rest peacefully, Grandma/Mummy.

Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 from 6-8 p.m. Parish prayers will take place at 7:45 p.m. A Funeral Mass with be held at Holy Cross Parish, 14400 Argyll Road Georgetown on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. Cremation will follow.
