SANDELANDS, Norma (nee Rusk)
Passed away June 5, 2014 in her 92nd year peacefully at Georgetown Hospital surrounded by family after a short illness. Daughter of Wilbur and Mae Rusk.
Predeceased by her husband, Vincent Sandelands; brother Merv, and sisters Doris and Merle.
Loving mother of the late Heather Howatt d. 2012 (Erwin), Alan Arnold (Susan), Margaret Dunn (John), Bert Arnold (Sandra), Finlay Arnold, Susan Hay (Terry), Scott Arnold (Janet), Graham Sandelands (JoAnn), Diane Sandelands, and David Sandelands (Eiko).
Norma will be missed by her sisters Bernice Hutchinson, Lois Evans, Moria Camm (Dennis), Margaret Aspey, brother Donald Rusk, and sister-in-law Hazel Arnold. Very proud and cherished Grandma, loved by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She will be remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.
She retired from Varian Associates, travelled the world with her travel buddy, Hazel and they delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. She bowled twice a week (including this year) with the 55+ group. The family is very thankful for the many fine years and the full life she shared with us.
A special thank you to all of the nurses and doctors at Georgetown Hospital for their kindness, support and excellent care of our mother.
In keeping with our mother's wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation with the family will be at J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown, 905-877-3631, on Sunday, June 8 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm and funeral services will be held on Monday, June 9 at 2 pm.
