Michael Dennis Marshall (Mike)
May 23, 1938 - June 5, 2014
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mike Marshall. Beloved and devoted husband of Norma for nearly 52 years. Loved Dad of Kathryn (Andy Field) and Andrew (Sarah Binks). Loving Grandad to Justin, Julia, Adelaide and Lachlan.
A graduate of Sir George Williams University (Concordia) and University of Toronto, Mike was an inspirational mathematics teacher with the Peel Board of Education for many years. Mike's encouraging approach and sense of humour was always appreciated by his students. He loved working with young people, coaching hockey with GMHA and tennis at North Halton. Mike enjoyed playing and organizing many sports including hockey, tennis, golf and curling. His greatest passion was the Leafs, whom he supported all his life. Mike also loved music and was an avid reader.
He will be missed by sister Barbara Anne, brothers Harold (Pat) and Robert as well as all his nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, North of Maple Ave., Georgetown on Sunday June 15th from 1 - 3pm. A celebration of Mike's life will be held in the chapel on Monday June 16th at 11:00am.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills would be appreciated.
