It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mike on Saturday April 13,2024 in his 61st year at his home in Georgetown. ON. He was a beloved devoted and amazing husband of Tracey for 36 years. Dear brother of Sandra & Walter, dear brother in law of Lisa (Fran), Craig (deceased). He will be truly missed by his many friends and colleagues near & far.
Mike was born in Toronto on July 18,1963. He graduated from Glen Forest Secondary School and joined the Canadian Armed Forces. Mike then went on to become a Tool & dye maker and then became an Engineer. In Mike's working career he owned his own business in Georgetown ON and then became a Process Engineer for Magna International.
His job took him all over the world, India, Germany, USA and from 2018 to 2024 Mike worked and lived in Saltillo, Mexico, a place he loved. Mike met many life long friends while working in different countries.
Mike had a passion for cooking and it all started with making butter sandwiches when he was 5 and he expanded to grilling and BBQ. He made legendary Beef Brisket, BBQ ribs and chicken from his days of working in Mississippi, USA and Saltillo, Mexico. He enjoyed what he crafted in the kitchen and loved sharing it with Tracey and his many friends from all over Canada, Mexico & the USA.
Mike loved the cruising life with Tracey and his cruising family and had been on 47 cruises and had fun on all of them.
Mike had an eye and mind for details, so repairing and fixing anything was easy for him. He lent his help to all who needed it and always with a smile. Mike had a huge heart for animals, especially some of his cats over the years.
Mike will be remembered for his sense of humour, his karaoke singing, his stories that he made up while travelling, his passion for cooking , his dedication to work, his wife Tracey, friends and family.
He was a very loving, caring husband, brother and friend who will be dearly missed.
