Melvin "Mel" Brogan

Brogan, Melvin "Mel" - Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Georgetown Hospital. Mel, in his 80th year, was the devoted husband of Marie for 58 wonderful years. Cherished father of Lori, Lisa, and Brian (Maggie), and a proud grandfather to Kyle, Alexa, Lucas, Jacob, Brandon, and Justin.

Born to Gladys (late George) Sayer and the late Cyril Brogan, Mel was the dear brother of the late Caroline Quigley, and brother-in-law to the late Clifford Arsenault (Mae), late Ella (late George) White, late Leona (Bobby) McAree, and Francis Arsenault (late Diane).

Mel's love of country and bluegrass music stayed with him throughout his life. Whether with a guitar in hand or a fiddle under his chin, music was a source of joy and connection. He also loved to bake and was happiest when sharing his homemade treats with family and friends. Mel was equally at home around a card table, cheering on his Toronto Maple Leafs, or proudly watching all his grandchildren play hockey.

He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, quick wit, and the warmth he shared with everyone he met. Mel found happiness in life's simple pleasures, from his weekly grocery shopping trips to the thrill of discovering a bargain. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for family will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew him.

A Celebration of Mel's Life will be held at a later date.
