Maurice Viant

Maurice Viant in his 86th year, after a short but valiant fight with cancer, passed on at the Georgetown Hospital on June 1, 2014. He was born in London, England on August 12, 1928 to Rene and Margaret Viant. His sister Nora came along two years later. He came to Canada in 1958 at the request of Varian - now known as CPI. He married Marian (Conn-Shepherd) in 1988 and became step father to Leigh Shepherd (Michelle), Sandra Shepherd (Michael), Brent Shepherd (Victoria) and Poppa to Logan, Courtney, Joshua, Maeve, Tara, Vivien and Christien. He will also be missed by brother in law Paul Conn and his wife Norma and their family as well as nephew Marcel and wife Judith Bradbury of England and niece Claire and husband Jamie VonArend and children of Spain. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 10:30 am. at J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, north of Maple Ave., Georgetown, (905) 877-3631.
