Mary Washbourne

Washbourne, Marie Lynn Estelle (Mary) of Brampton Ontario died peacefully at Brampton Civic Hospital on Saturday, December 23, 2023. She was 70 years young.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents Ivor and Jacqueline Washbourne and her brother Michael. Survived by her siblings Joanne(Rick), Elaine (Rob), Cindy (Rob), Sylvie(Dan), Christine (Phil), brother Dennis (Leah) and her children Christine (Ben) Christopher (Rhiannon), Mark (Tarrah), Heather (Devin). Mary was also a proud and caring Grandmother to Kaitlyn, Colton, Liam, Peyton, Ethan, and Lillian.

Mary's favourite things to do was spending time with her family, walking her dog Rue, going to the beach or reading a good novel. Mary unfortunately fought multiple health battles over many decades. A two-time Kidney transplant and heart attack survivor (among other complications) fought everyday for herself and her children. It would be wrong to say that Mary lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. When anyone else would have broken, Mary stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. There was no quit in Mary. Just because she is no longer here, it does not mean she lost her fight.

Mary will truly be missed by all those who knew her.

A celebration of life will be scheduled for the spring.
