Mary Ellen Farrell (nee Brindle)
At the age of 85, died August 15, 2012, peacefully at home with family by her side. Born in Petawawa, Ontario on February 2, 1927 - Ellie was the eldest of 12 children born to Myrtle and Dave Brindle. She is pre-deceased by her husband Charles John Farrell, daughter Catherine Tassone and siblings, Philip, Teresa, Edith, Betty and Ceril. She is survived by daughters Gladys and Valerie Farrell, son Patrick, sisters Shirley, Diane, Doreen, Maimi, Linda and brothers Jackie and Johnny. She will be fondly remembered by grand-children Maria (Larry), John, Rosa, Lucia, Ross and Chrystal. John and Dee Dee Peace will also remember their "Nana". Great-grandchildren, Zach, Hannah, Abigail and Cameron Tassone, Timothy, Nicholas, Josh, Catherine Maragliano, Allison and Alexander Collier, Tanner, Barry and Carrie Inder have all been blessed by having her in their lives. Her legacy and memory will be carried on by countless nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Bournes, Aliant Heath Care and March of Dimes who have cared for her over the last 21 1/2 years since she suffered her stroke in 1991. Many of you have taken her into your heart and cared for her as if she were your own. A special thank you to the Patrick family who were always at a phone call's length to assist in any way and to always bring a smile to her face.
Memorial Service to be held at J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home 11582 Trafalgar Rd., north of Maple Ave., Georgetown 905-877-3631on Monday August 20th at 12:00 pm. Reception to follow. The family has requested a private interment as she is re-united with her husband at Greenwood Cemetery - Georgetown.
