Marlene Ada Donnahee passed away peacefully at Bethell Hospice, Inglewood, on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Beloved wife of Roy for 58 wonderful years, Marlene was a devoted and loving mother to Ryan (Moira) and Andrew (Rachel). Cherished grandmother of Meghan, Blair, Charlotte, Jacob, and Ava, she took great pride in her family and treasured every moment spent with them. Dear sister of Randy (Ardythe) Dukeshire, Marlene was predeceased by her loving parents, Duke and Ada, and by her sister Shirley.

Born and raised in Nova Scotia, Marlene attended business school in Yarmouth before beginning a distinguished 33-year career in Human Resources with the Government of Canada. Respected by colleagues and admired by her peers, she was honoured as “Leader of the Year,” a reflection of her integrity, dedication, and quiet strength.

Marlene will be remembered as a kind, humble, and deeply loving woman whose family always came first. She was organized, dependable, determined, and a tireless hard worker. Known for her healthy lifestyle and daily walks, she carried herself with grace and steady determination throughout her life. She found joy in the simple things, especially time spent with Roy watching hockey and cheering on Canada during the World Junior Championships.

Though quiet in nature, Marlene’s warmth, stability, and unwavering support left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.

In keeping with Marlene’s wishes, private family services will take place. Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
