MARK COATES Peacefully on Thursday April 20th, 2017 at his home in Georgetown, in his 58th year.
Mark was best friend, husband and business partner of Rosemary/Ro; loving father of Tasha and Brendan; PomPom to William. Beloved son of Eunice. Dear brother of Delia (Andrew), cousin of Suyen Talken-Sinclair, dear son-in-law of Anthony Palumbo, brother-in-law of Lorraine (Vic), Tony Jr (Laurie), Kathryn (Joe). Predeceased by son-in-law Justin Penfold, mother-in-law Lea Palumbo and his grandmother Madeline Minnett. Mark steered Sports Unlimited - Georgetown with the help of family and over 50 exceptional staff with special mention to Conor O'Callaghan. Mark was an entrepreneurial, self-reliant leader who surrounded himself with extraordinary talent. Mark was also a clear thinking patent holding inventor and musician who composed many wonderful works. Mark enjoyed sports locally, coached soccer & baseball with GBA; played Slo-Pitch (SOB's) with GSL and played goal for some amazing hockey teams (Sports Unlimited Beavers Oldtimers). Mark was an enlightened soul who enjoyed a deeply profound respect for the beauty of mother earth. Mark died after a relatively short battle with Neuro-Endocrine cancer. Special thanks to Cancer Assistance Services of Halton Hills and St. Elizabeth nurse, Mae Shin. Mark lived life on and for a purpose, and to always "Do the Right Thing". Friends will be received at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Rd., north of Maple Ave., Georgetown 905-877-3631 on Friday May 5th from 7-9 pm. A celebration of Mark's life will be held on Sunday May 7th 12-4pm at Glen Williams Ball Park. Cremation has taken place.
