Marie Theresa Parker

Marie Parker (née Gonsalves) passed away peacefully at the Georgetown Hospital on September 13th after an impossible battle with Alzheimer’s. Marie will be forever missed by her loving husband and devoted caregiver Steve. May they one day be reunited in spite of the horrible disease that has separated them. She passed with her daughters Jennifer (Tom), Deborah (Basil), and Michelle (John) by her side. She was a fierce and protective mother who loved unconditionally. They have been given the best guardian angel. Marie was the proudest Nana to Myles, Alexandra, Emma and Megan. May they always remember her love, laughter and the most beautiful smile. Predeceased by her parents, Albert and Vera and by her older brother Bernard (Penny), Marie leaves behind her younger siblings, her dearest sister Margaret, Eustace (Elizabeth), Denis (Lorraine), Philip (Nell), Paul (Jacqueline), Anna (Dave), Gerry (Corrine) and Mary. They were often separated by distance but always in her heart. There are too many nieces and nephews to name, but all were proudly displayed throughout her home. Marie also leaves behind her best friend of over 55 years, Bernice (Tony). She was truly blessed by their friendship. Infinite gratitude needs to be extended to the nurses of Georgetown Hospital. Marie’s extended stay in the hospital was not ideal but was handled by staff with the utmost respect, compassion and care. Family and friends will be received at Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown on Thursday, September 19th from 3-5pm and 7-9pm.  The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 20th at Holy Cross Church, 14400 Argyll Road, Georgetown at 11am, followed by her interment at Holy Redeemer Cemetery and a reception at Jones Funeral Home.
