Marie Boulanger

Boulanger, Yvette- Passed away on March 13, 2014 at the Georgetown hospital in her 88th year, after battling Alzheimer's for several years. Beloved wife of the late Herménégilde Boulanger. Cherished mother of Jim, Renald, Réjean and wife Lynn, Lorraine, and René. Grandma will be missed by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Yvette will also be missed by sisters Rita and Annette, nieces, nephews, and her church family at Sacre-Coeur. Moving to Ontario in 1958 with her husband and five young children, and speaking no English, Yvette demonstrated her courageous and gregarious spirit, learning the language and becoming involved as a respected and well-liked member of her new community. Devoted to her family, Yvette was happiest when surrounded by them. These times included the yearly summer trek to Quebec socializing with relatives and blueberry picking - resulting, of course, in blueberry pie and her special 'poudin'. In later years she enjoyed watching and spoiling her grandchildren. She was known for her generosity, always giving of her time and resources, to help others. Finally, friends will smile at memories of her as an avid bingo player. Friends will be received at the J.S. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, north of Maple Ave., Georgetown, (905) 877-3631 on Monday, March 17 from 7-9 pm. Funeral service to be held at Sacre-Coeur Church, 39 Guelph St., Georgetown, on Tuesday, March 18 at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at Greenwood Cemetery.
