Maria Gloria da Silva July 19, 1933 - March 16, 2021 With broken hearts, we announce the passing of Maria Gloria da Silva, 87, from COVID complications, on March 16, 2021, just 18 days after the passing of her beloved husband, Carlos da Silva. She is survived by her two loving daughters who were by her side until the end, Gloria Rinaldi (Luca), Tina Carreiro (Nelson), her grandchildren: Jessica Rinaldi, Adam Rinaldi, Christopher Carreiro and Matthew Carreiro (Michelle), and her great-granddaughter, Juliana Carreiro.
She was a kind, gentle soul and a devout catholic. Our childhood is remembered in song, as she filled our home with her beautiful voice. Her shy smile was always at the ready, and her eyes would light up at the sight of her grandchildren, folding them into her arms with the biggest, tightest hug.
Viewing will be held at the Jones Funeral Home, on Sunday March 21, from 2-5 pm. Please call (905) 877-3631 in advance to register your attendance. She will be laid to rest March 22 at Assumption cemetery following a 10:30 am funeral mass at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Georgetown.
