Borges, Maria - Passed peacefully on Tuesday February 7, at her home with family by her side, in her 83rd year. Maria was called home to the lord, and welcomed by her late husband Bento Borges. Loving mother of Carlos(Agostinha) Santo, Joe Santo(Sonia Frias), Nelia(Dave) James and Carla(John) Bilik. Loved Grandmother to Mathew, Michelle, Rebecca, Anthony, Alex, Breana, Emily, Kaitlyn, Benjamen, Lucas and Mason. Sister of Maria dos Anjos and Ana(Joe) Santos. She will be greeted at the gates of heaven by her late brothers and sisters. Maria had a deep love for her family, cooking, sewing, gardening, but most of all baking. She made the best Portuguese cookies around. Friends will be recieved at the Jones Funeral Home(11582 Trafalgar Rd.) Georgetown on Thursday February 9, from 2 - 4pm and 6 - 8pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday February 10, at Holy Cross Catholic Church(14400 Argyll Rd.) Georgetown at 10:00am. Burial at Greenwood Cemetery, with reception to follow.
